i am quite excited that it is only august and i am almost booked through the fall for portrait sessions. please note, i always welcome maternity inquiries, as we do have more flexibility with appointment times when children are not involved in the session. i do encourage gift certificate clients to email me for availability, as i try my best to accommodate those that have been given a gift to my studio. i hope you all are enjoying the last few weeks of summer :)
so the summer just started, and wow, we are really enjoying every minute of it! but i do need to evaluate the next few months and start making plans for the fall with regards to portrait sessions. due to my children's schedules, i will only be available on select weekday afternoons, some school holidays and limited saturdays for appointments. i need to mention that i am not doing Christmas only portrait sessions. i will gladly photograph children in their Christmas outfits, but my style lends itself to more casual, personal and creative portraits, not focused primarily on the holiday season with a posed portrait for a card. as noted in my pricing, holiday cards will only be created after a $300 portrait print order.
i truly value all of the interest people have in my work and it has been wonderful seeing many families year after year. please send me an email if you are interested in scheduling a session now for sept/oct. as i have about 10 available dates at this time for those two months to guarantee cards for Christmas.
I had the honor of having Owen and his family over for a session yesterday. From the moment I met them, the love they have for each other filled the room.... Owen is so completely adored...a simple "hi" from his dad created a beautiful smile that warmed your heart...

and this was ALL her idea!! she was a bit concerned that she'd never see her dear tooth every again and just needed a few pictures so she'd remember that special tooth for the rest of her life!
oh and a side note...once the tooth turns a slight gray, it will surely fall out the next day! good thing we were at home and daddy found it, cuz it flew out of her mouth as she was talking last night LOL

what a pretty day...i love the snow when there is absolutely nothing to do but be home! despite me being under the weather, i took my little guy outside to build a snowman... i swear he is the easiest child to photograph...he's absolutely happy 75% of his little life, but when he's "off" , watch out, he's off ...no idea where he gets his temper from ;) haha
it seems every so often we are reminded that life is so precious and can change in the matter of seconds. i saw this video from a friend and it really hit home for me today...as i'm sitting here, under the weather...with nothing more than miserable cold... watching this puts it all into perspective...
so i'm back to blogging..
back to work too...started this year off with some fabulous families... i love my job... i love watching the children i've met in the past get older and their families grow with new siblings... and it is so fun to meet new people as well... i must say, this is my dream job... i just need to throw a maid into the whole scene here and i'd be on cloud 9... hahaha
we had a bit of a scare a week ago when my little guy fell and gashed his forehead open... he is perfectly fine now but needed 9 stitches to seal the deal... what a trooper! now if only i could just duct tape him to the chair so he can heal...every bang and cry i hear sends my heart racing...nervous as to what i may walk in to... he does have a long way to go to compete with my cousin and i in the injury department...i hope he never breaks as many bones as we did

oh to be a little girl... she was just so excited to wear those ruby red slippers... who would have thought we could get pictures like this in the end of october... it really was a beautiful day for halloween! i hope everyone had as much fun as we did!
